SFX Ripped Mouth Makeup Look | Halloween Makeup

Hi everyone! I hope you all are having a great week! Spooky Season is among us, and with Halloween coming up quick, I thought I would spend some time working on my SFX skills and coming up with looks that you all can try this Halloween!

I did this ripped mouth look yesterday, and it is definitely one of my favorite SFX looks I’ve ever done (and not just because I terrified my dad in the process of it). I love how it turned out, so I figured I would show you all how you can achieve this same look for Halloween!

First things first, you’re going to want to do your eye makeup and a base of foundation, concealer and powder. I just did a pretty simple eye using the BH Cosmetics Opalescent Palette, but feel free to do whatever eye look you want!

Once that’s done, you’re going to grab a red lipstick and apply it really messily around your mouth. And when I say messy, I mean MESSY! Channel your inner clown or Miranda Sings and just go for it.

Then you’re going to grab some liquid latex, toilet paper, and any makeup sponge. I like to use the cheap disposable makeup wedges so I don’t have to worry about the latex ruining a beauty blender.

You’re going to want to take your toilet paper and rip it into thin strands like you see in the picture below. Once you have a few strands ripped and prepped just leave those to the side for now

Go ahead and grab your liquid latex; you can use any latex, I use the one by Mehron Makeup. What you’re going to do is take a little bit onto your makeup wedge and start by applying a little bit above your mouth.

Then taking one of your toilet paper strands you’re going to carefully place the top of the strand over that latex. Following with another thin layer of latex over that.

Taking some more latex, you’re going to go ahead and apply a small amount to your chin, or wherever you want the end of your “mouth” to be, and carefully attach the other end of the toilet paper strand to that, again following with a another thin layer of latex over that spot.

Keep in mind, you want to work pretty quickly while doing this to ensure that the latex doesn’t get too dry.

You’re just going to repeat those steps over and over until you have the base of the mouth done, which should look something like this!

Next your going to grab some translucent powder and lightly set the spots that have latex on them.

You’re then going to grab your foundation and carefully apply it over the latex and toilet paper so it can blend in with your skin.

Keep blending the edges as best you can until it looks as seamless as possible before setting it with some more translucent powder.

Then, you’re going to grab a small brush and some fake blood-I used the Ben Nye Thick Blood-you’re going to to carefully apply it between and behind the toilet paper.

I applied a thin messy layer of the blood all over before grabbing my Morphe x James Charles palette and dipping into the shade ‘Spooky’ with another small brush. With this, I’m just going to carefully add some shadowing behind the layers of toilet paper and around my lips.

Going back to the fake blood, I’m going to really dig into it so the blood on my brush is darker, thicker, and almost clot like and apply this sporadically in the gaps to add even more detail.

Continue playing around with the blood and black shadow until you’re happy with the look.

and there you have it! A fun, creepy look for you to rock this Halloween!

Dramatic Fourth of July Makeup!

thumbnail

Hey Beauties!

Today is the fourth and final day of my Fourth of July makeup series!

This look is definitely the most dramatic out of all four looks, but I’m obsessed with it! I don’t know how things are where you guys live, but here in California we are all definitely having to adjust our usual Fourth of July festivities, but regardless of what your holiday plans may be, we can still do a full glam right?!

As usual, I am going to be using my Morphe x James Charles palette (I know I use it in every look, but hey, I love it and it has all the colors I could ever need okay?)

First we’re going to dip into the shade ‘You’re Kidding’ and blend this out in my crease.

This shade is also going to be smudged across my lower lash line, and I’m going to drag it down a good amount, and really smoking it out.

Then going into the shade ‘Boutique’ I’m going to apply this into my crease as well to add some depth. However, I’m going to keep this shade much lower in the crease and then blending it well into ‘You’re Kidding’

With a small detailing brush, I’m going to smudge this shade across my lower lash line, however this shade I’m not going to blend down as much as the last color, I’m going to keep it right along the lashes.

Next, you’re going to grab a clean makeup wipe and begin to carefully remove any makeup that got onto your lid, and carefully outline where you are going to cut your crease, before grabbing your concealer and going ahead and cutting the crease.

For my lid, I’m going to be using my ‘Always On Liquid Eye Shadow’ by smash box in the shade ‘Mindful’ and applying this all over my lid, using a small eyeshadow brush to spread it out evenly.

To set that I’m going back to my James Charles palette and taking the shade ‘Acapella’ on a flat shadow brush and patting it right over that liquid eyeshadow.

Next, grabbing any liquid black eyeliner, I’m using my BH Cosmetics liquid eyeliner, you’re going to just draw a normal wing.

Once the wing is done, I’m going to grab a royal blue pencil eyeliner and apply this to my waterline.

After that, with a small detailing brush I’m going to take my BH Cosmetics Base Booster Glitter Glue and apply this in a triangle shape right underneath my eye.

Then with that small brush, which at this point will be tacky from the glitter glue on it, I’m going to dip into these loose glitters and apply them onto that glitter glue right under my eye. I’m not doing this in any certain powder, I’m just going to alternate between the red and silver glitter and press them onto the skin until I’m happy with it.

Finally, just simply apply some lashes and mascara and you are all done!
